Group Guitar Classes

This class is the perfect introduction to guitar playing. We begin by studying both the names of the strings, as well as the basic open position chords. Next, we will focus on the art of strumming, and apply this core knowledge to playing some basic accompaniments for a wide variety of popular tunes.
The best thing about this course is: the students themselves choose which songs we will learn together as a class. We learn guitar by selecting your child’s favorite songs, albums, artists, or even music from their favorite movies or TV shows. This class is suitable for the absolute beginner. Instruments will be provided, or you may choose to bring your own.
Wow! This is your chance to begin your child’s lifelong journey with this amazing instrument! Students will be playing music by the end of the first class, and learning new music and chords every single week! This class is taught by Omni-Style Guitar Virtuoso, Steve Marchena. For more information about Steve, please visit www.stevemarchena.com.
Each class is a 45 minute session and limited to just 7 students per class. Students will either progress into the next group level or into private lessons.

Group Piano Classes

A Group Piano Class is an exciting introduction to piano and music skills for beginning level music students. The goal of the course is not only to develop a solid musical foundation in piano, but most importantly to instill in the student a genuine love and appreciation for music.

A group atmosphere is often more beneficial and enjoyable for beginning level students because they are motivated by their peers, but are also allowed to progress at their own rate.
Basic piano skills, such as proper hand positions, posture, note reading, and technique, will be taught. Students will learn how to play age appropriate music step by step. They will learn to listen to each other while playing, developing of a better sense of rhythm and tempo.

We are eager to announce our new program "Double Fun Family Makes Music Lessons".
This program was designed by our enthusiastic team of teachers, many of whom are also parents.
This is an afterschool, afterwork or weekend program designed for:
* two parents
* parent-child
* two siblings who are close in age
* or two best friends.
The students should be at the same or similar level of music proficiency: beginners, intermediate or advanced, and the age requirement is 4+. For the parent-child combination the age requirement is 3+
This new program will save you time, money and most importantly it will give you an opportunity to spend time together while experiencing the exciting world of music.
It is also great for parent-child relationship, gives parents an opportunity to be involved in their child’s progress. Unlike in private piano class where they observe the progress from the side in this program parents and children are in the same role- both learning. Parents will experience and understand the music themselves which means they will also understand the importance and responsibility of practice. They can help their children to get better but sometimes they will be surprised how children are capable of helping their parents.

Drama Classes

Along with regular lessons, this semester we are now providing a Musical Theatre Workshop (Drama Class) taught by the Ivy Voice/Piano Instructor, Hannah Meloy.

This semester our Musical Theatre Workshop is under the motto ”Where words fail, music speaks.” ~ Hans Christian Andersen.

This program is an exciting mix of acting, singing and dancing from musicals as such as "Wicked", "Jekyll & Hyde", "A Chorus Line" and many more Broadway shows.

This will provide students with a safe, encouraging environment to express their creativity, improve their musical skills and work within a group.

Each student is guaranteed at least 2 solos and a duet. At the end of the semester, we will have a fully staged production (with stage makeup and costumes) to showcase the participating student\'s hard work.

This program is available from 11 to 12AM and from 1:30 to 2:30PM on Saturdays.

It is a walk-in class an the fee is $15 per visit.
